Kaleidoscope Wrap

The Kaleidoscope Wrap allows you the freedom to choose the format you like best—three individual modular units can be assembled as either a vee or rectangle. The combination of lace and hand-dyed yarn creates an interesting play of pattern and colour, like a kaleidoscope.

Three square units are knit from the centre out, creating an expanding flare of lace patterning in each unit. Then the pieces are joined with crochet cord ties in a vee or rectangular shape, whichever you prefer. NOTE: Fiddlesticks Knitting patterns are charted. Recommended for Intermediate lace knitters.

Recommended yarn:

Approximately 800 m fingering-weight yarn (our sample worked in a 50% wool, 30% silk, 20% nylon blend; 50 g / 160 m)

Finished size of each unit:

Approx. 22 inches square, making the vee shape 44 inches on each long side, and the rectangle shape 22 x 66 inches

Needles:

4.5 mm (US 7) 16-inch and 24-inch circular needles

4.5 mm (US 7) double-pointed needles (set of 5—lightweight wood or plastic recommended)
