The Garden Shawl

Create a figurative garden as you knit this shawl. Stroll with your needles down the flower-strewn paths that frame drifts of leaves, ferns and flowery borders. Based on Shetland lace patterns, this stocking stitch shawl is knit from the centre outwards and then the garter stitch lacy leaf edging is added. Some of the Shetland lace patterns include leaf, fern, daisy and dew drops. Others are adapted for this pattern. NOTE: Fiddlesticks Knitting patterns are charted. Recommended for Experienced knitters.

Recommended yarn:

Any fine laceweight or cobweb yarn suitable for fine lace knitting. The pattern was originally designed for Artisan NZ Merino Lace Weight yarn (20 g skein = 300 m: 7 skeins, or approx. 2100 m).
